Kulgam, Feb 3, KDC: A couple and a minor girl were critically injured after militants fired at them from point-blank range in the Behibagh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, officials said.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen targeted the family of ex-Territorial Army man Manzoor Ahmad Wagay in Behibagh. His wife, Aaina Akhtar (32), and another minor girl, Sania Hameed (13), daughter of Habibullah Shah, were also injured. All three were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An official told Kashmir Dot Com that “Manzoor has received a stomach injury and has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment as his condition is critical, while his wife and the minor girl have sustained leg injuries.”
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
