SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Qazi Irfan Rasool Zargar, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, as the Inquiry Officer to conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations against two officers of the Motor Vehicles Department.

According to an order, the investigation concerns Mubashir Jan Bhat, the then I/c ARTO Baramulla, and Jamsheed Rasool Chaudhary, I/c ARTO currently attached to the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.

The inquiry follows the registration of multiple FIRs by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in 2022 and 2023. The officers are accused in two separate cases related to corruption, with FIRs filed at P/S ACB, Baramulla, and Srinagar.

The appointed Inquiry Officer has been directed to submit the investigation reports and recommendations to the Administrative Department within one month. (KDC)
