SRINAGAR: Polling parties in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district set off for their designated polling stations today, carrying electronic voting machines (EVMs) in preparation for the first phase of polling scheduled for September 18.
A total of 534 polling parties were dispatched to remote and far-flung areas of Doda to ensure a smooth voting process.
In addition, polling parties from Ramban and Kishtwar districts have also departed for their respective polling stations with EVMs.
The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being conducted in three phases. The first phase of voting will take place on September 18, followed by the second phase on September 25, and the third phase on November 1. Votes will be counted on October 8.
