SRINAGAR: BJP leader Ram Madhav on Wednesday responded sharply to MP Engineer Rashid’s release from Tihar Jail, condemning his anti-Modi rhetoric and pledge to fight against Prime Minister Modi’s vision for ‘Naya Kashmir’.
Taking to Twitter, Ram Madhav, the BJP’s election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir, according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com, attacked Rashid for his anti-Modi comments and calls for restoring Article 370 and freeing terrorists from jails. Madhav linked Rashid’s remarks to those of other prominent Kashmir leaders like Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
“This rank separatist, in jail for the last 5 years under UAPA for indulging in anti-India activities, is out on bail to further vitiate Valley politics. Look at the language… anti-Modi rants, restoring Article 370, freeing terrorists from jails… no different from what Omar or Mehbooba or even others like Lone, of NC, PDP, or PC – the Gupkar Gang – are saying. He wants to defeat Modi’s dream of Naya Kashmir. We accept the challenge. Naya Kashmir’s march will go on unrelenting,” Madhav tweeted.
Ram Madhav, a senior BJP leader and strategist, has been actively involved in shaping the party’s policy on Kashmir. He has played a key role in advocating for the abrogation of Article 370 and has been instrumental in the BJP’s political strategy in the J&K.
The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are scheduled to be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with the counting set for October 8. (KDC)
