SRINAGAR: In a latest political development, former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Yasir Reshi, businessman Raja Ashraf, and former Botany lecturer Prof. Naseer Ahmad joined Er Rasheed’s Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) in Srinagar this afternoon.
Yasir Reshi, who as per Kashmir Dot Com previously served as an MLC for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the BJP-PDP coalition government in 2014, had recently switched allegiances to Sajad Lone’s Peoples Conference. Reshi’s recent departure from the party paved the way for his new affiliation with AIP.
Raja Ashraf, a prominent businessman from Ganderbal district, also marked his political entry by joining AIP.
Prof. Naseer Ahmad, who had a notable career as a Botany lecturer and was associated with the National Conference, has voluntarily resigned from government service to focus on his political aspirations with AIP. (KDC)
