Srinagar, Aug 22, KDC: The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched a comprehensive initiative to vacate ministerial bungalows, renovate MLA hostels, and upgrade official chambers in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Sources privy to the development told the Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com that the administration has started the process with top bureaucrats and other occupants being relocated to alternative accommodations.
“One Commissioner Secretary has already voluntarily vacated a bungalow on Gupkar Road,” they said.
They said, the renovation efforts include refurbishing Assembly complexes in Srinagar and Jammu, enhancing sound systems, internet connectivity, fire safety, and building aesthetics.
“Repairs are also underway for the chambers of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Leader of the Opposition, along with provisioning official vehicles and residential accommodations,” they added.
“Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo is overseeing the strategic planning to ensure all upgrades are completed before the elections,” they concluded. (KDC)
