Srinagar, Aug 22, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag Thursday claimed to have seized huge quantity of illicit country-made liquor at Bijbehara and arrested two persons allegedly involved in its production and distribution.
“Acting on a specific tip-off, a team of officers from Anantnag Police conducted a raid at Pazalpora, Bijbehara, near Jadoo Point, leading to the seizure of approximately 950 litres of illicit country-made liquor. The operation also uncovered various equipment and materials used in the illegal production process. During the operation, 02 persons identified as Azad Singh and Suraj Chohan, originally from Akola, Maharashtra, and currently residing in Pazalpora, Bijbehara, have been arrested,” the police said in a statement to Kashmir Dot Com.
“A case vide FIR No. 168/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara and investigation has been initiated.”
“This swift and effective action by the Anantnag Police underscores their unwavering dedication to enforcing excise laws and cracking down on illegal activities in the district,” the statement said. (KDC)
