Srinagar, Aug 15: The Bandipora-Gurez road was closed on Thursday for all vehicular traffic following heavy rainfall in the area, officials confirmed.
According to a district administration official, the road closure was ordered as a safety precaution due to the adverse weather conditions. Residents have been advised to avoid travel to and from the area until further notice.
Meanwhile, a cloudburst in the forest area of Arin Dardpora, north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, caused significant damage to a newly constructed road and bridge. Despite the destruction, no casualties have been reported so far. (KDC)
