Srinagar, August 11, KDC: A civilian who was critically injured during an encounter in the Ahlan forest area of Kokernag succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
The gunfight, which erupted on Saturday between militants and security forces, also resulted in the deaths of two army soldiers and injuries to another civilian.
A senior police officer confirmed the civilian’s death to Kashmir Dot Com, adding that the deceased soldier has been identified as Havildar Dipak Kumar Yadav and Lance Naik Praveen Sharma.
The search operation in the area has intensified as security forces continue to track down the militants involved in the encounter. The situation remains tense, with concerns that the death toll could rise due to the critical condition of the injured. (KDC)
