Srinagar July 14, KDC: Syed Uzma, a resident of Kupwara in North Kashmir, has etched her name in history. Selected as the Impact Officer for Kashmir hub, Uzma became the first woman from Kashmir to represent the region at the prestigious Global Shapers Annual Summit held in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com, this international event, organized by the World Economic Forum, brings together young leaders from over 150 countries to discuss pressing issues and plan for a better future.

As per the available details, the Summit, held from July 10th to 12th, 2024, provided a unique platform for Uzma to share her vision and experiences with fellow changemakers.

She actively participated in discussions, learning valuable strategies and forging connections that can benefit her work in Kashmir.

Her participation signifies a significant milestone, not just for Uzma herself, but for the entire Kashmir hub of the Global Shapers Community.

“We are incredibly proud of Syed Uzma’s accomplishment,” said one of her colleagues at the Srinagar Global Shappers Hub.

“Her dedication to social change and her leadership qualities were instrumental in her selection for this prestigious event.  Uzma’s participation at the Global Shapers Annual Summit is a testament to the incredible work being done by young people in Kashmir,” he said.

The Srinagar, Kashmir hub expressed its gratitude to the Global Shapers Community for their support and guidance.

With renewed inspiration and a network of international connections, the hub said it remains committed to empowering young leaders in the region and driving positive change for the future of Kashmir. (KDC)
