Kupwara: In a significant operation, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, successfully busted a terror hideout in the dense Dardnar Forest located in the upper reaches of the Shamshabari ranges in Kupwara district.
according to a statement acting on precise military intelligence, the joint forces launched a massive search operation on May 22, 2024, leading to the discovery of a well-hidden cache of warlike stores.
The operation revealed a substantial arsenal, including Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), a significant quantity of Chinese-origin grenades, and a pistol along with its ammunition. This cache was meticulously concealed in the remote mountains of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, posing a potential threat to the region’s peace and stability.
The bust is a setback for terrorist groups aiming to destabilize the relatively peaceful and progressive district of Kupwara. The seizure of these armaments not only thwarts their plans but also underscores the readiness and effectiveness of the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in maintaining security and order.
A senior Army official highlighted the importance of this operation, stating, “The discovery of this cache has dealt a blow to the terrorist factions in the region. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the peace and security of the people in Jammu & Kashmir.”
