Bandipora, Dec 07, KDC: Contractors in Bandipora are facing financial hardships as they grapple with alleged harassment and withholding bill disbursements by Farooq Ahmad Mir, the Accounts Officer of Municipal Council Bandipora, MC Sumbal and Hajin respectively.
President, Contractors Association Sonawari, Altaf Ahmad, in a statement issued here said that Mir’s actions have left contractors in deep debt, leading to severe consequences for their families.
“Despite the intervention of higher authorities, Mir remains reluctant to expedite the processing of our bills, exacerbating our financial woes,” he said.
The contractors’ are facing challenges as unpaid bills have directly impacted on our families who are facing starvation due to the prolonged financial strain,” Altaf said.
The affected contractors have appealed higher authorities, urgently seeking intervention and a prompt resolution to their concerns.
“The hope is that the higher authorities will swiftly intervene to mediate and find a resolution that ensures fair treatment for the contractors and the timely disbursement of their pending bills,” he added. (KDC)
