Srinagar, Feb 28, KDC: One militant has been killed while as two army soldiers were injured in an ongoing encounter at Padgampora area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Police launched a cordon and search operation in Padgampora village in Pulwama area after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of Army, Police and CRPF approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile two army troopers also received bullet wounds in the gunfight, who have been subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment, they said.
Kashmir police in a tweet said that 01 militant has been killed in this gunfight. Body of the militant yet to be retrieved, while the encounter is in progress. (KDC)
