Srinagar, Oct 4, KDC: In a shocking late-night development, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Prisons, H K Lohia has been murdered, police said.
Sources told Srinagar bases news agency Kashmir Dot Com that Lohia’s throat was slit. One of Lohia’s house help is suspected to be behind the killing, as per the initial inputs. Top police officials have rushed to the spot as soon as the murder came to light.
IPS officer H K Lohia was appointed as the DGP, Prisons on August 3.
ADGP Jammu according to a statement said “Dead body of Hemant Lohia DG Prisons JK found under suspicious circumstances. First Examination of the scene of crime reveals this as a suspected murder case.”
The domestic help with the officer is absconding, police said adding that a search for him has started.
