Jammu, July 1, KDC: The Directorate of Health Services Jammu has initiated an official inquiry into serious allegations of harassment, extortion, and withholding of salaries by the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Gool, Ramban.

According to a formal order issued by Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), a three-member committee has been constituted to investigate the matter. The inquiry panel will be headed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director of Dentistry. Other members include Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo, Chief Medical Officer Ramban, and Shashi Paul, Assistant Accounts Officer from the Directorate.

The committee has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation into the complaints and submit its findings with clear remarks and recommendations within 10 days from the date of issuance.

The action follows formal complaints received by the Directorate, alleging that the BMO of Gool was involved in staff harassment, illegal monetary demands, and delay in disbursement of employee salaries. The Health Directorate has taken cognizance of the matter and assured appropriate action based on the inquiry outcome. (KDC)
