Srinagar, June 1: The Speaker of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, has summoned a crucial meeting on Monday with the chairpersons of nine newly constituted House Committees.
According to sources, the meeting will focus on reviewing the functioning of the Financial Committees and other important committees as per the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Assembly.
The meeting will be attended by the following committee heads: Sham Lal Sharma (Public Accounts), Shamim Firdous (Estimates), Ali Mohammad Sagar (Public Undertakings), Sajad Gani Lone (Government Assurances), Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami (Environment), Surjeet Singh Slathia (Ethics), Nizam-ud-din Bhat (Privileges), Hasnain Masoodi (Subordinate Legislation), and Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah (Petitions).
In addition to the chairpersons, senior officials including the Principal Accountant General of J&K, the Commissioner Secretary to Government (General Administration Department), and the Secretary to Government (Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs) have also been requested to attend the meeting.
The gathering aims to enhance the oversight and effectiveness of the Assembly’s committees as they carry out their legislative functions.
