Budgam, Apr 02, KDC: Budgam Police organized Cyber Awareness Programme (Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas) at various Police Establishments across the district with the aim to educate the public about cyber threats and safety measures.
Police officers on the occasion discussed various cyber threats, including hacking techniques, phishing, identity theft and emphasized preventive measures to protect one’s digital presence. The participants were also cautioned to keep their social media accounts secure and safe and also be aware while chatting with unknown people on any social media platform. They were encouraged to share their concerns and experiences related to cyber threats and expert advice was provided to address these issues.
The event emphasized the role of the police in ensuring a secure digital environment and encouraged the general public to report cybercrimes promptly without any hesitation. The participants were briefed to report the incidents at “The National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP)” and on helpline number 1930.
The participants appreciated the efforts of Police for organising such awareness programmes and spreading awareness about various cybercrimes among the common masses. (KDC)
