SRINAGAR: The General Administration Department (GAD) of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a circular directing all government officers and officials to give priority to elected representatives in public offices and official interactions.
The circular stated the crucial role of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in grassroots governance and mandates government departments to extend full cooperation in addressing their concerns on priority.
All officials have been instructed to handle communications, requests, and grievances from elected representatives professionally and promptly. Their concerns must be acknowledged and processed without delay.
Furthermore, the circular directs that elected representatives must be invited to all official functions and meetings held within their jurisdiction, including events attended by visiting dignitaries.
The GAD has stressed strict and immediate compliance with these instructions. (KDC)
