Kulgam, Feb 3, KDC: An ex-Territorial Army man succumbed to his injuries after militants fired at him and two others from point-blank range in the Behibagh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, officials said.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen targeted Manzoor Ahmad Wagay, a former Territorial Army soldier, along with his wife Aaina Akhtar (32) and a minor girl, Sania Hameed (13), daughter of Habibullah Shah. All three were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An official told Kashmir Dot Com that “Manzoor, who had sustained a stomach injury, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital. However, his wife and the minor girl, who sustained leg injuries, are stable and undergoing treatment.”
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
