SRINAGAR: A dead body was found inside a 1000-litre water tank at a residential house in Khrew area of Pampore town on Thursday.
Sources told Kashmir Dot Com that the body was recovered from a water tank at the residence of Gh Nabi Shah, son of Gh Mohi Uddin, in New Colony, Khrew, Pampore.
He has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Wani, son of Wali Mohammad, a 55-year-old resident of Khrew.
According to police sources, Wani had been mentally unsound for the past 20 years. The body was recovered in the presence of a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Khrew.
The deceased’s remains have been taken for medico-legal formalities, and a detailed investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident. (KDC)
