SRINAGAR: Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Gilkar, a resident of Bilal Colony in KP Road, Anantnag, has been recognized for his exceptional performance by being awarded the “Best Outgoing Resident in Surgical Oncology” after completing his DM in Oncology Surgery at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hyderabad.

Dr. Gilkar, who was earlier serving as a Medical Officer in Quimoh, Kulgam, is widely acknowledged for his academic excellence and dedication to the field of oncology.

He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and went on to earn his MD degree in Oncology.

His achievement is particularly significant in the context of the rising number of cancer cases in the Kashmir Valley.

Dr. Gilkar’s expertise and commitment to the fight against cancer are seen as an invaluable contribution to the Kashmir’s healthcare system.

In addition to his medical accomplishments, Dr. Gilkar has also authored a research book “Appendix of Appendicitis” which is available on Amazon. His scholarly work further solidifies his standing as a leader in his field.

Dr. Gilkar, who hails from the open merit category, has become an inspiration to many young aspiring medical professionals in the J&K. (KDC)
