SRINAGAR: National Conference leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its past allies, accusing those who aligned with the BJP in 2014 of paving the way for the party’s influence in J&K.
While addressing the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sagar said, “We have to beg today because of those who aligned with the BJP in 2014.”
Sagar accused the BJP of attempting to suppress the people of the region after the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, and claimed that the party’s efforts to promote a new political leadership in the region had failed, resulting in the BJP’s defeat in the recent elections.
He alleged that the BJP was brought into power by violating the people’s mandate in 2014. (KDC)
