SRINAGAR: Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) and J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with skill-based training, research and promotion of entrepreneurship, startup and innovation culture as key areas of focus.

The MoU was signed by Director EDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma and Registrar Cluster University Srinagar, Dr. Syed Wilayat Hussain Rizvi. Senior officials from both institutes were present on the occasion including Controller of Examinations, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Mir and Dean Social Sciences, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Kotey. 

The MoU will be in place for five years and will facilitate effective utilization of resources. 

EDI will extend support for internships to students of Cluster University Srinagar. It will also facilitate the faculty and students of the university with respect to industrial training and exposure visits, providing insight in to the latest developments and requirements of the industry. 

As part of the MoU, EDI will provide necessary assistance in setting up of the University Incubation Centre. Besides, training and entrepreneurship development programs will be conducted for faculty and students. 

Cluster University Srinagar and EDI have agreed to carry out joint research activities in the fields of entrepreneurship development and startup culture in J&K. Students will be trained in emerging technologies in order to bridge the skill gap and make them industry ready.

EDI will extend support to deliver guest lecturers to the students on the technology trends and in-house requirements. It will also provide inputs to the university in teaching methodology and curriculum design in tune with the entrepreneurial scenario.
