SRINAGAR: The District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) of Bandipora has relieved Firdous Nabi Bhat, a Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Ajas, following serious allegations of physical assault on female students.
according to Kashmir Dot Com, the complaint, supported by CCTV footage, was forwarded by the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora after being filed by local residents of Ajas village.
According to the order issued by DYSSO Bandipora, the incident took place on October 18, 2024, at 10:03 AM. The footage shows the PET involved in physical punishment, which has sparked outrage in the district.
In response to these allegations, the teacher has been directed to report to the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports immediately to ensure the safety of the students and allow a thorough investigation into the matter.
The order stressed the need to maintain a safe and conducive environment for learning in the school.
The decision has been copied to the Director General of Youth Services and Sports, the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, and the Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports Kashmir for further action and oversight.
