Srinagar, Sep 24: Media advisor to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and party’s candidate from south Kashmir’s Bijbehara in the ongoing Assembly polls, Iltija Mufti Tuesday said, she will “continue to expose propagandists who throw Muslims under the bus for cheap TRPs.”

Iltija, who is also Mehbooba’s daughter has been campaigning for the party since the announcement of the long-awaited elections in J-K. In a video, she was seen refusing to hold a private news agency’s microphone and calling them out for “their anti-Muslim content.”

Following this, the editor of the news agency quoted Mufti’s video, terming her action as ‘cheap’.

The young politician replied to her by saying, “Cheap is how her media wilfully vilifies & demonises Muslims. Adds fuel to the fire by conveniently omitting & distorting news thereby encouraging Islamophobia. Nothing against reporters who have to work but what the agency does is criminal & must be called out,” Iltija had wrote on her official X-handle.

On Tuesday, Iltija took to X again saying, she was “systematically targeted by BJPs IT cell and deluged with lewd retorts and vulgar remarks.”

However, it won’t scare her, said Iltija.

She said she will “continue to expose propagandists who throw Muslims under the bus for cheap TRPs. They can do whatever they want.”
