SRINAGAR: Former Jamaat-e-Islami member and current independent candidate for the Kulgam assembly segment, backed by Jamaat-e-Islami, made a provocative statement saying, “If God forbid I’ll lose tomorrow, it’ll be said that Islam lost.”
Addressing a crowd during his campaign rally on Thursday, Reshi said that a loss in the upcoming election would not be viewed merely as his personal defeat but as a broader setback for Islam and its followers, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
“If, God forbid, I lose the election tomorrow, it won’t be said that Sayar Ahmad lost. It’ll be said that Islam lost, and followers of Allah and Hazrat Muhammad SAW lost,” Reshi said. (KDC)
