Srinagar: A scuffle broke out between supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) in Balpora, Shopian, resulting in minor injuries to several individuals.
Reports reaching Kashmir Dot Com said that a scuffle broke out between supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) in Balpora, Shopian, resulting in minor injuries to several individuals.
Police said “Both parties have been accused of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), prompting police to take cognizance of the incident.”
A PDP leader said that Yawar Banday, the PDP candidate for the Shopian constituency in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, was injured and has been shifted to hospital
Banday as per reports was swiftly moved to the local hospital where from he has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter. (KDC)
