SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has accepted the voluntary retirement application of Khursheed Ahmed Sheikh, brother of Engineer Rashid.

According to an official order, the School Education Department has approved Khursheed Ahmed Sheikh’s request for voluntary retirement. He was serving in a school located in his native area of Mawar. As per the order, Khursheed’s voluntary retirement took effect on September 01, 2024.

Khursheed is expected to be the candidate for the Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) from the Langate constituency in the upcoming elections. He is set to face off against Irfan Panditpuri, the candidate from Peoples Conference.
