Srinagar, aug 23, KDC: Former PDP District President and ex-MLA Wachi, Aijaz Ahmad Mir, resigned from the party on Friday following the withdrawal of his assembly election mandate.
Mir, who had actively campaigned for the party, according to media reports expressed discontent over the decision, describing it as humiliating.
He emphasized that mandates are ultimately decided by the people, not parties, and stated that his future plans will be determined after consulting with his supporters.
Mir is likely to contest the upcoming J&K assembly elections as an independent candidate. PDP has appointed Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani as the new constituency in-charge for Wachi. (KDC)
