Srinagar, August 22, KDC: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) welcomed three influential figures at its Srinagar headquarters on Thursday in the presence of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti.

According to the Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com, Syed Bashir Ahmad, a former Minister and two-time MLA from Rajpora constituency in Pulwama, has officially joined the PDP.

“His extensive experience in public service and dedication to the welfare of the people will be instrumental as he is declared the PDP candidate for the Rajpora assembly segment,” PDP said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In another notable addition, Syed Jamaat Ali Shah, a former Treasury Officer from Wali War, Ganderbal, has joined the PDP.

“His transition into the party is expected to enhance its strategic focus on advancing the interests of Jammu & Kashmir. Shah will contest for the Kangan (ST) seat in the upcoming elections,” another post said.

Additionally, the PDP welcomed Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik, a former Principal and District Sessions Judge, who will be a candidate for the Dooru assembly segment.

“Malik’s vast experience in the legal field and his commitment to justice are anticipated to contribute significantly to the party’s governance objectives,” one more post said. (KDC)
