Srinagar, August 12, KDC: Concerned over the growing disregard for the department’s uniform code, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, Monday issued a circular mandating adherence to the prescribed uniform pattern. The IGP warned of strict action against those found violating the guidelines.
“It has been observed that Police officers/ officials performing duties are wearing different patterns of uniforms items viz T-shirts beret cap, shoes etc which is against uniform pattern of Police department beside presents bad impression as well. The matter has been viewed seriously by senior officers and needs to be complied,” reads a circular issued by IGP, V.K Birdi, a copy of which lies with Kashmir Dot Com.
“In view of the above, it is enjoined up on all supervisory officers that the officers/ officials working under your command and control shall wear proper uniform. Any deviation into the matter shall be viewed seriously,” the order further reads. (KDC)
