Bandipora, August 1, KDC: In a major political shift, Usman Majid, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, announced that all units of the party in Bandipora have resigned, including his own position. This claim was met with immediate counterstatements from key leaders within the party, including Syed Shafat Qazmi, the District President for Bandipora, and Imtiyaz Parray, the Sonawari Assembly In-charge.
According to Srinagar based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com, the handout issued by Apni Party Bandipora unit said that Majid’s resignation announcement reflects a unified decision by the Bandipora units to reassess their political strategies and better address local needs.
However in response, Syed Shafat Qazmi and Imtiyaz Parray have firmly countered the resignation claims.
Parray while talking to Kashmir Dot Com said, “The resignation affects only the Bandipora assembly segment and does not include the Sonawari constituency. I, along with other district, block, and zonal presidents, remain committed to supporting the Apni Party.”
Syed Shafat Qazmi said, “The resignations appear to be a personal decision by Usman Majid and his close associates. I continue to stand with the party, and the organization remains robust in Bandipora. We will fill the key positions with new leaders, ensuring the party’s continued strength and presence in the region.” (KDC)
