Srinagar, August 1, KDC: The Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s School Education Department has issued a new order modifying the previous delegation of powers regarding the rationalization of school complexes across the Union Territory. This decision aims to centralize authority and ensure more stringent oversight of staff deployment within the education sector.
According to Government Order No. 304-JK(Edu) of 2024, dated August 1, 2024, the powers of rationalization that were previously delegated to school Principals and Cluster Heads have been revoked. These responsibilities will now be exercised by the Joint Directors, subject to prior approval from the respective Directors.
The order explicitly prohibits Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers from making any rationalization, internal arrangements, or deployment and attachment of teaching or non-teaching staff. This decision is intended to streamline processes and prevent unauthorized personnel changes within schools.
The importance of strict adherence to the new order, warning that any deviation would result in legal action against the responsible officers, read the order, issued by Alok Kumar ,Principal Secretary to the Government, School education department, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
