Srinagar, June 20, KDC: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commence a pivotal two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from today, starting with a helicopter journey from Srinagar’s technical airport to Badami Bagh. From there, he will proceed to Raj Bhavan and then will travel by road to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC). The entire area, including Raj Bhavan and SKICC, has undergone extensive security sweeps, with elite SPG and Marcos units deployed to ensure safety, particularly around the picturesque Dal Lake.

A top official told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that security measures are stringent, marked by designated “red zones” to control movement, bolstered by a multi-tier security arrangement involving SPG personnel and navy Marco commandos. “It is a high-alert security environment,” he said.

He said the visit strictly adheres to SPG’s ‘Blue Book’ guidelines, outlining comprehensive security protocols mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), adding that advanced security liaison activities, involving Intelligence Bureau officials, state police and magistrates, have been meticulously coordinated.

Later today, at 6:30 pm, PM Modi will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC in Srinagar. He will address participants and join in the Common Yoga Protocol session.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects across Jammu and Kashmir, underlining his commitment to the region’s growth and prosperity. (KDC)
