Srinagar, June 15: Poonch Police on Saturday refuted the news reports suggesting the recovery of IED-like material in forest area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement, the spokesman said, “It is for the information of everyone that no IED like material or suspected IED has been recovered anywhere in Poonch district. During routine security exercise, a pack was found in which there were some cold drinks, Diwali crackers and eatables”.
“There is no terror angle in it. Hence, news information of recovery of IED / IED like material is strongly rebutted,” it said.
Police requested media houses to desist from publishing or sharing unconfirmed information which are baseless but have potential to create panic.
“Any such irresponsible act in future can draw legal action,” the statement added.
