Authorities today attached the property of a man who has been arrested earlier this year and is lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

Usman Gulzar Wani son of Gulzar Ahmad of Hushangpora Nagabal was arrested during a gunfight in a Shopian village on 30 August 2022 during which three militants were killed.

“During the investigation Zainapora police recovered one SLR, two SLR magzines, and 40 SLR rounds from his possession. He is presently lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu on judicial custody,” police said.

Authorities today attached his house.

On 30 August last year, three local militants Danish Khurshid Bhat, Tanvir Ahmed Wani and Tawseef Ahmed Bhat of Shopian district were killed in Nagabal Shopian gunfight. After the gunfight, police had detained Gulzar for assisting the ultras.

Police confirmed that the house of Gulzar has been attached for helping militants in the Shopian district.

The J-K administration has planned to launch a major crackdown on the assets of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), militants and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) by sealing the major properties belonging to them.
