Srinagar, Oct 18, KDC: Center for Youth Development organized back to back programs in Government High Secondary schools in summer capital Srinagar on Drug Abuse prevention and Awareness.
According to a statement “Centre for Youth Development held back to back awareness programs on drug addiction awareness at Government Girls High Secondary School Khanyar and Government Girls High Secondary school Zadibal, and awarded the students on the menace of drug addiction and its perils.”
Large number of students, teachers were kept abuzz about the hazards of drug addiction and challenges it poses to the youth of Kashmir.
Experts from Center for Youth Development urged the students to be fearless in sharing their problems and keep their parents and teachers abuzz about their problems. They also stressed not to treat those who have fallen into the trap of drug addiction badly but ensure social boycott of those elements that are supplying drugs.
The teachers expressed delight over conduct of such an awareness program on menace of drug abuse and especially the students were much over the moon and emotional in expressing their pain and feeling on this burning challenge faced by Kashmir .
It is worth mentioning here that on October 6, the Center for Youth Development (CYD) and its initiative Downtown Coordination Committee held a grand program on the “rising drug abuse and role of civil society” here. The event was held at 7C’s Restaurant, Sangarmal Srinagar. Eminent people from different walks of life threw light on the topic and presented their vision on the issue.
Center for Youth Development has reaffirmed that it will include all educational and socio religious institutions in its programs on drug menace awareness, the statement added. (KDC)
