Anantnag September 21, KDC: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today presided over the Annual Day function of Islamia Hanfia Institute in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district where she witnessed the talent of students and interacted with the children, teaching staff and the parents of the students.
After the colourful parade and cultural programme by the students,

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi addressed the gathering while releasing the white pigeons to signify the message of peace for all.

“Today on international peace day, I request all students of this prestigious institute to be the ambassadors of peace for humanity. We have seen a lot of bloodshed which has created hell out of our lives for three decades. Now peace is at our doorsteps and we all have a responsibility to contribute in establishing a peaceful & creative atmosphere in J&K and make this place the real crown of our country,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

She said that new Waqf Board decisions were not against anybody but for cleansing the system of all malpractices. She said that the reformative decisions of Waqf will continue in the days to come too despite the hate-statements of politicians with vested interests.

“All those who looted Waqf, used the public donations & income from the shrines & other properties for helping their supporters & blue-eyed persons will be booked soon after the verifications initiated are completed. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi later paid a visit to the shrine of Reshmol Sahib & Qabamarg and inspected the ongoing construction works there. She also interacted with many public delegations & also spoke to the Waqf Board employees.

Speaking to the media after her visit Dr Darakhshan said that a huge majority of people throughout J&K are happy with the Waqf Board decisions and only a few beneficiaries of the ill-practices and their political umbrellas are shattered. She assured people that Waqf will be a clean, transparent, productive system of management now onwards and there is no scope for any favoritism in the clean working system.

She was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Waqf Board Dr Syed Majid Jahangir, Assistant Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Shaaban & Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin. (KDC)
