Kulgam, Jul 27, KDC: Militants managed to give slip to security forces, while an army soldier was injured during an encounter in Brayihard Kathpora village of Yaripora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching KDC said that a joint of team of police, Army’s 34 RR and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.

“As the searches were on, militants who had taken shelter in a nearby area came out firing guns and lobbed grenade.”

They said that the exchange of fire continued for few minutes after which the guns fell silent.

An official said that security forces launched searches for hours to trace the militants, but they couldn’t find anyone and the operation was finally called off.

He also said that an army man received injuries during the initial exchange of firing and is said to be stable. (KDC)
