Militancy case: NIA detains minor boy in Srinagar amidst ongoing raids in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 24, KDC: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at several locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with an already registered militancy case, official sources said on Friday.

They told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and CRPF are carrying out raids in parts of Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora, Pulwama, Sopore, Srinagar and Kathua.

In Srinagar, sleuths of NIA raided the residence of Faisal Sajad Naikoo (9th Class student) (14) son of Sajad Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of Kani Mazar Nawakadal A/P Rehab Sahib Ali-Kadal as tenement. During searches the mobile phones of Faisal and his parents have been seized by the NIA Team.

Sources said that the boy along with his father Sajad Ahmad Naikoo (Driver) (47) has been also detained for questioning by the NIA Team.

Another team of the probing agency raided the house of an ex militant identified as Syed Fayaz Ahmad son of Syed Ghulam Geelani, a resident of Bonpora Chewdara Beerwah. Fayaz was apprehended and was taken to PS Beerwah.

In Bandipora, sleuths of NIA raided the residences of Abdul Majeed Dar, son of Ali Mohammad Dar resident of Chek-e-Ganastan and Owais Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid resident of Bankoot.

Many other locations are being searched by the national probing agency of which sources said details were being collected.

“During the searches on Friday, various incriminating documents and electronic devices were seized from the premises of the suspects”, official sources said adding that further investigation of the case is on. (KDC)
