Srinagar, Mar 31, KDC: The residents of Seer Hamadan and its adjacent areas are highly aghast over the incompetent Naib Tehsildar in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Locals told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that Naib Tehsildar Seer Hamdan instead of taking action is openly supporting land grabbers in the area.

They said that the revenue officer hardly responds to the directions of higher authorities including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner and concerned officers.

“A land grabber who has grabbed the state land adjacent to Khasra No: 560 situated at Seer Hamdan near town hall and has erected a (Kothiyar) in state land and is not ready to remove it despite repeated requests. He has also grabbed ‘Khul’ and constructed two number of shops on state land adjacent to Khasra No 532.” they alleged.

“Despite requesting land grabbers at local level to remove the encroachment, some revenue officials are hand in glove with the land grabber and are allowing him to erect the illegal construction without any accountability,” said Shahid Ahmad, a local resident.

“Two months earlier, we requested the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to direct the concerned Deputy Commissioner to constitute a team of revenue officials for demarcation of State land and remove the illegal encroachment, but the officer kept the complaint aside till date” he said.

Mohammad Amin another local resident said “He humiliates applicants without any logic and instead of acting, the officer is harassing with fabricating complaints against people who raise their voice against his wrong doings. The officer also remains off duty due to which the public suffers.”

Residents have requested Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to look into the matter at an earliest and constitute a committee to find the facts and take legal action against erring officials and remove illegal encroachment. (KDC)
