Srinagar, Feb 07, KDC: A gunfight has started between security forces and militants in Nambal area of south Kashmir’s pulwama district on Monday evening.
Reports reaching KDC that a CASO was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in the area by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police in the area.
As forces zeroed the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Official sources confirmed to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the contact with the militants has been established and gunfight is underway. 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped. More details shall follow. (KDC)
