Srinagar, Jan 29: Srinagar police on Saturday solved theft case and arrested two accused from West Bengal. While stolen jewellery worth lacs recovered.
In a statement, the police spokesman said on 05-01-2021, Police Post Channapora received a complaint from one  Gh Mohd Sheikh S/o Ab Gani R/o Housing Colony Chanpora, regarding burglary of jewellery from his residence house.
A case under FIR no 07/2022 was registered at sadar ps under sections 380,457 of IPC.
On this a team of Police Post Channapora swung into action and with the help of intelligence, arrested two(2) accused persons from West Bengal who were involved in the crime namely, Mohd Samad Sheikh, S/o Mohd Mustefa Sheikh R/o Jaipur Rajasthan, 14-Punching Patti Revadi  Ki KothiBans Badanpora.
While another was indentified as Mohd Shoidul Sheikh, S/o Mohd Mustefa Sheikh  R/o Rajasthan were arrested  by Srinagar Police from West Bengal.
Meanwhile, Gold jewellery weighing 92.680 grams was recovered from the accused, spokesman said.
He said the investigation of the case is going on, more arrests and recovery is expected.
