Srinagar, January 16, KDC: Suspected militants hurled a grenade on security forces in Sarafkadal area of summer Srinagar on Sunday evening, official sources said.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that militants attacked by lobbing a grenade towards 23BN of CRPF in police jurisdiction of MR Gunj leaving a cop and a civilian injured.
They identified the injured as Constable Mehraj Ahmad posted at PP fateh-Kadal and the civilian as Sartaj Ahmad Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Saraf-Kadal. “Both the injured are being treated and are stated to be ‘stable’ at SMHS hospital,” they added.
Meanwhile a police official confirmed the incident to KDC and said the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants. (KDC)
