Budgam, Dec 23, KDC: Two militant associates linked with proscribed militant organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
A police official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that Budgam Police along with 02 RR & 79 Bn CRPF arrested two militant associates linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT and recovered incriminating material from their possession.
He said “Acting upon specific information, Police along with Security Forces arrested 02 militant associates linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT from Magam area of district Budgam. They have been identified as Mohammad shafi Ganai S/o Abdul Rahman ganai R/o Kawoosa Khalisa and Zahoor Ahmad Chopan S/o Ali Mohammad Chopan R/o Mamoosa Pattan.
He further said during the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that both the arrested militant associates were in touch with LeT commanders & were involved in providing logistics, shelter as well as transportation to the militants of LeT operating in areas of Kawoosa, Razwen, Rathsun, Mazhama, Pinjoora, Kunzar, Mamoosa etc.
A case FIR number 95/2021 under section 7/25 IA Act, 20,23 ULAP Act stands already registered at Police Station Khag and further investigation is under process, he added.
If sources are to believed both the associated as per police were arrested on 19th December by the SOG for questioning and today police recovered almost 20 posters of LeT outfit from their possession. (KDC)
