SRINAGAR, December 06:  Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party on Monday organised a provincial level meeting at its Party Central Office in M2 Church Lane, Sonwar that was attended by Party District Presidents along with other functionaries.

The meeting was presided by Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir besides whom Party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Party Chief Coordinator and District President Kulgam Abdul Majeed Padder, State Secretary Muntazir Mohi-ud-din, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, Party Chief Spokesperson and mentor Kupwara-Baramulla districts Javid Hassan Baig, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, District President Kupwara Raja Manzoor, District President Baramulla Shoaib Lone, District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Mir, District President Ganderbal Javid Mir, District President Badipora Syed Shafat Qazmi, Provincial President Women Wing Dislhad Shaheen, General Secretary Youth Wing Muzaffar Reshi, Provincial President Youth Wing Khalid Rathore and Provincial Coordinator Women Wing & Social Media Convener Sujada Bashir.

The meeting primarily focused on resolving the numerous issues faced by the people on ground where the members present in the meeting unanimously asserted that holding elections in J&K remains highly imperative in order to address the public woes.

Addressing the meeting, Rafi Mir said Apni Party has always demanded for early elections in the region of Jammu and Kashmir as the bureaucratic system can never be an effective alternative for a democratically elected government.

“The developmental works on ground have come to an abrupt halt while people are being pushed from pillar to post in order to get their routine issues resolved in the government institution. Elections can act as a panacea to this prevailing distressed situation and people can take their day-to-day grievances before their elected representatives. Apni Party hopes and also urges the government to initiate positive measures in this direction and restore democratic right of people to vote for the representatives of their choice,” he said.

Rafi Mir said Apni Party has been persistently reiterating its demand for the restoration of statehood and dignity of the people through which their aspirations will be accordingly materialized.

“Jammu and Kashmir has been a famous State in the union of India for decades and as promised by the Government of India in the Parliament, this lost status needs to be restored at an earliest. The people are feeling disempowered but with restoration of Statehood their dignity will be reinstated. The Central leadership needs to take speedy measures for paving the way to re-establish the status of state to Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Furthermore, Rafi Ahmad Mir urged the Party functionaries to make requisite efforts for disseminating the people centric agenda of the Party among masses and ramp up the membership drive in their respective districts.

The Party leadership present in the meeting discussed other miscellaneous issues and resolved to further strengthen the party cadres at grassroots level. (KDC)
