POONCH, NOVEMBER 20, KDC: Chairperson District Development Council Poonch, Tazeem Akther today chaired a day long  district Development Council meeting here in conference Hall of Dak Banglow to review the status of developmental projects taken up under District Capex 2021-22 and other schemes being implemented in the District.

Additional District Development Commissioner/CEO DDC, Abdul Sattar; Chairpersons of Block Development Councils, DDC members, Joint, chief planning officer, ACP, ACD, executive engineers besides other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

     At the outset, the CEO (ADDC) District Development Council gave a power point presentation on the physical and financial status of ongoing projects under district Capex 2021-22 including in R&B, PMGSY, PHE, PDD, I&FC, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and other sectors schemes.

Speaking at the meeting, The DDC chairperson stressed on the concerned officers to mobilize the resources at work places and speed up the pace of developmental works with strict adherence to the quality parameters.

Laying emphasis on the timely completion of all development projects, the chairperson impressed upon the executing agencies to meet the set timelines.

The chairperson strongly pitched for black listing of all those contractors who  failed to start works and meet terms and conditions  despite being well informed and warned on several times to meet up SOPs of the schemes.

She asked the concerned departments to share  complete details of works with Council including the works tendered and works allotted and list of Untendered works.

She expressed series concern over  untendered  works and asked the executing agencies to complete the process within one week. She warned that further delay by the departments will force the council to recommend for strong action against erring officers and officials.

Tazeem Akther also called for judicious utilisation of funds so that benefits of developmental projects accrue to the public.

 Special thrust was laid on generating awareness regarding the social sector schemes for women, elderly, differently abled, orphan children, girl child, SC, ST & others.

Earlier, the BDC and DDC members apprised the council about the issues and demands pertaining to their respective blocks and constituencies.

They inquired about the status of ongoing development schemes in their constituencies viz a viz tendering , availability of potable water, power scenario and functioning of Water Supply Schemes etc.

The DDC chairperson stressed on all the departments and members of general council to work in synergy to bring tangible results on the ground so that developmental tempo of the district ramps up.

All the Departments were asked to share the list of ongoing and upcoming projects during the FY 2020-21 and also furnish progress registered in each sector to district development Council. (KDC)
