The suicide bomber who had attacked Kabul airport last month was caught in Delhi five years ago, the Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) has claimed, according to a report by India today.

The ISIS-K claimed that the suicide bomber, named Abdur Rahman al-logri, was arrested in India five years ago when he had travelled to Delhi to carry out an attack “in revenge for Kashmir”.

He was deported to Afghanistan after serving prison in India, the terror group said in the latest edition of their propaganda magazine.

The ISIS-K had carried out a suicide bombing attack outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on August 26 this year. The attack, which took place when evacuation operations were ongoing at Kabul airport, had killed over 180 people, including 13 US Marine soldiers.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested a Kashmiri couple, Jahanzaib Sami (36) and his wife Hinda Bashir Beigh (39), for allegedly having links with the ISIS-K. Three more persons were arrested on similar allegations before the NIA took over the case and chargesheeted all of them.
