25-yr old girl ends life, 50-yr-old woman consumed poisonous substance, 3 notorious drug Peddlers arrested with 103 KGs of Fukki in Budgam

Srinagar, Aug 07, KDC:  A twenty five years old girl ended her life while a fifty years old woman consumed some poisonous substances at her home and three notorious drug Peddlers were arrested in central Kashmir Budgam district on Saturday.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) a twenty five years old girl name (withheld), a resident of Bagath Mohalla Soibugh ended her life at her home. She was reused to PHC Soibugh where doctors declared her dead.

In another incident a fifty year old woman name (withheld), a resident of Kumar Mohalla Soibugh consumed some poisonous substances at her home. She was immediately rushed to PHC Soibugh where doctors referred her to SKIMS Bemina for further treatment, sources said.

Meanwhile, Budgam Police in a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said during naka checking at Sholipora Budgam, police party of police station Budgam intercepted one vehicle Mahindra Maxi Truck bearing registration number JK05J-7919 with three persons onboard, police party signalled them to stop, instead of stopping the vehicle they tried to escape from the spot, police party chased them and overpowered the vehicle near TATA brick kiln. During search of the said vehicle 103 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Fukki) like substance was recovered from modified hidden chambers lying in the base of the body of the vehicle.

Police identified the accused person as Mohammad Sultan Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Sholipora Budgam, Abdul Hameed Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, resident of Sholipora Budgam, Ghulam Nabi Dar son of Mohammad Shafi Dar, resident of Gulistan Baramulla.

They said that case FIR number 241/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.

Budgam district police have taken cognizance of all the incidents and further investigations have been launched. (KDC)
