Budgam, Aug 01, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two Punjab residents along with poppy straw (Fuki) in Humhama area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that two persons identified as Gurjant Singh son of Baldev Singh, a resident of Sunhar Manwan Ferozpur area in Punjab and Sajan Kumar son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Ludhiana Punjab were arrested during a naka checking by Police Post Humhama at Sheikhpora near petrol pump
They said “During Naka Checking Two suspected persons were found carrying two bags who after seeing Police party tried to flee from the spot, but after efforts both the persons were apprehended along with two bags. During checking of their bags 950 and 850 grams of Poppy straw (Fuki) was recovered from their possession
A police officer confirmed the arrest to KDC and said that in this regard a case vide FIR number 237/2021 under section 8/15 NDPS has been registered and further investigation has been started. (KDC)
